Profile
Update your display name and timezone.
- Display Name - the name shown throughout the application.
- Email - read-only. Your email address cannot be changed after registration.
- Timezone - select from ~80 IANA timezones grouped by region (UTC, Americas, Europe, Asia, Australia & Pacific, Africa). Click the Detect button to auto-detect your browser's timezone. Your timezone setting controls how dates and times appear across the dashboard and in CSV exports.
Click Save Profile to apply changes.
Two-Factor Authentication
DriftSensor supports two MFA methods. They are mutually exclusive - you must disable one before enabling the other.
Email Verification
When enabled, a 6-digit one-time code is sent to your registered email each time you log in.
To enable:
- Toggle Email Verification on.
- A verification code is sent to your email.
- Enter the 6-digit code in the dialog that appears.
- Click Enable MFA to confirm.
If you don't receive the code, click Resend code. You can also Cancel the setup at any time - this cancels the pending setup on the server as well.
To disable:
- Toggle Email Verification off.
- Enter your account password in the confirmation dialog.
- Click Disable MFA.
When enabled, a green banner confirms: "Two-factor authentication is enabled. Your account is secured with email verification."
Authenticator App (TOTP)
Use Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or any TOTP-compatible app for stronger security.
You must disable Email Verification before you can enable Authenticator App. If email MFA is active, an amber warning appears and the setup button is disabled.
Setup flow:
Scan QR Code
A QR code is displayed (you can also copy the secret key manually). Scan it with your authenticator app.
Verify
Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app. Codes refresh every 30 seconds.
Save Backup Codes
A set of one-time backup codes is displayed. Copy or download them (driftsensor-backup-codes.txt). These codes are shown only once.
Store your backup codes in a secure location like a password manager. You will need them if you lose access to your authenticator app.
To disable:
- Click Disable next to Authenticator App.
- Enter your account password.
- Confirm - this also removes all backup codes.
Backup Codes
When TOTP is enabled, a backup codes section appears showing:
- Remaining / Total codes with a progress bar.
- Generated date of the current set.
- A Regenerate Codes button to create a fresh set (requires password confirmation; existing codes stop working immediately).
An amber warning appears when you have 3 or fewer codes remaining, prompting you to regenerate.
Appearance
Choose your preferred theme:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Light | Light background with dark text |
| Dark | Dark background with light text |
| System | Follows your operating system preference |
The theme applies immediately using your browser's theme support.
Notifications
Configure how you receive alerts with three toggles:
| Setting | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Email Notifications | On | Receive email alerts for DNS changes |
| Critical Alerts Only | Off | Only notify for high and critical severity alerts |
| Daily Digest | Off | Receive a daily summary of all changes |
Changes save individually as you toggle each setting.
Notification Email Address
This card is only visible to Tenant Admins.
Set a dedicated email address (e.g., alerts@yourcompany.com) where DNS drift alerts are sent. This email always receives alerts regardless of individual user notification preferences. Leave it empty to use the default customer email.
Getting Started (Onboarding)
Non-global-admin users see an onboarding card showing their setup wizard status:
- Pending - click Open Setup Wizard to continue the 5-step onboarding.
- Complete - click Restart Onboarding to re-run the wizard from the beginning.
Account Information
The Account card displays read-only details about your account:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Your registered email address | |
| Role | Global Admin, MSP Admin, Tenant Admin, or Read Only |
| Status | Active or Inactive |
| Member Since | The date your account was created |
Linked Settings Pages
Several cards link to dedicated full-page settings:
- Billing & Subscription → Manage your plan, view invoices, purchase addons. See Billing & Plans.
- API Keys → Create and manage API keys. See API Access.
- Webhooks → Configure webhook endpoints. See Alerts & Notifications.
- Microsoft Teams Integration → Connect Teams channels. See Alerts & Notifications.
Password Reset
DriftSensor does not include a password change form within the settings page. To change your password:
- Log out of your account.
- On the login page, click Forgot Password.
- Enter your email address to receive a password reset link.
- Click the link in the email and set a new password.
This flow uses a secure, time-limited token sent to your registered email.
